As evidence that even experienced fish keepers lose fish, I lost every single ‘Lamprologus’ caudopunctatus that I bought back in October of last year. All seven of them.

Looking for the ultimate shell dweller tank? Look no further than the Hydra Aquatics Lagoon.

In January this year, I posted about some strange behavior with my caudopunctatus. If you read that post, you will recall I did two things – I added some chemical media to the filter and altered the tank lighting.

If you follow the blog, you know I ordered some new stock back in October. Included in that order was a group of ‘Lamprologus’ caudopunctatus.
Though I have posted photos of all my tanks over time, I have never shown them all at once. I thus decided to take a video of my entire fish room.

I posted previously about some new fish I ordered from Dave Schumacher at Dave’s Rare Aquarium Fish. They arrived earlier this week on Tuesday.

I have posted before about making sure that you cover your tanks, which is especially important for species known to jump out of the water. ‘Lamprologus’ caudopunctatus is one of those species. Though some species are more inclined to jump than others, jumping is often a product of the species in the tank (sex ratio also), the depth of the tank, and the mix of livestock.

This is a pretty juicy subject. Depending on who you ask, you’ll get several answers. Is there one “right” answer? No. Why? Because that depends on your intent with the question.

How do you know if your caudo is stressed? Look for the stripes.
