Fish tank and fish room set-ups come in all different varieties and flavors. From the filtration to the plumbing to the lighting to the substrate, there are so many ways to set everything up.

Following up on the previous post about my fish room, I thought I would use this post to mention my fish workshop.

As true fish rooms go, mine is pretty tame. Rather, what I should probably say is that it’s not a real “fish room,” in the conventional hobbyist sense. It’s more of a finished basement with some tanks in it. Anyway, I now have two of the custom tanks up and running.

I haven’t posted updated photos of the workshop in a while. It’s undergone a lot of changes since the last post.

Yesterday during water changes, it occurred to me that I’ve talked about the tanks in my fishroom but I’m not sure that I’ve ever shown them. I am fortunate to have enough space in my home for a designated fish room. This isn’t where my show tanks reside, but where my “work” tanks reside. By “work” I mean the tanks where I keep fish under special circumstances e.g., sick or injured, segregation for breeding or aggression issues, or even quarantine for new fish.
