Earlier this year, I posted about custom tanks. In that post, I mentioned getting a 34g tank from Glasscages. Over the past several weeks, I have been fishless cycling that tank.

Last week, I started taking down the last 75g in my fish room. At one point, I had two 75s. Over time, I have increasingly downsized both my fish and my tanks. I don’t mean downsized in the normal sense (i.e., numbers), but literally in sizes – smaller fish, smaller tanks.

Though the two custom 45g shellie tanks have been set up for a while, my original plumbing on each tank created a problem with the filter outflow. The Loc-line Y-reducers I was using on each tank were concentrating the water flow too much.

As true fish rooms go, mine is pretty tame. Rather, what I should probably say is that it’s not a real “fish room,” in the conventional hobbyist sense. It’s more of a finished basement with some tanks in it. Anyway, I now have two of the custom tanks up and running.

In January of this year, I posted about a couple of custom tanks I had made. Those two tanks were part of a larger custom tank order that my friend Ralph Cabage (owner of Aquarium Life Support Systems) and I placed.

Back in November last year, I posted about some changes I was making with my show tanks. In that post, I mentioned custom tanks I had ordered.

Last year (2022) I posted about making some changes in the fish room. Specifically, I was planning to downsize, both in number of tanks and tank sizes. I also planned to begin working with some species I’ve never worked with.
