OCA Extravaganza and fish

If you’ve never attended the annual Extravaganza organized by the Ohio Cichlid Association (OCA), you’re missing out. Not only is the event a great place to meet other fish keepers and make new friends, it’s also a place to discover some fish you didn’t know you needed….but you do. It’s happening this weekend!

Though the event is a showcase of beautiful cichlids, there is always a variety of non-cichlid fish on display and even for sell. This includes Corydora catfish, livebearers, plecostomus catfish, and assorted characins, just to name a few.

The convention includes a large ballroom where various aquarium vendors peddle fish food, filters, supplies, books, even fish tanks. Some vendors specifically sell fish at the event.

Oh, and did I mention that many convention attendees also sell fish directly from their hotel rooms? Where else will you see that?

If you’re in Strongsville, OH or the surrounding area this weekend, stop by the Best Western hotel off Royalton road. See some fish, take some home, or just meet fellow fish keepers.
